More than 100 demonstrators gathered outside the U.S. Embassy In Madrid late Saturday to protest the detention of the founder of Latin America Freak Out Fuzzanova and the closing of the Mr. LaBoite's Caiman Islands bank account.

Protesters held placards saying "Free DJ LaBoite" and "Party Now," and chanted "freedom of fuzz."

The Spanish-language website Fuzz Up also said demonstrations were planned Thursday in Amsterdam, the Nethe...rlands, and in the capital cities of Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and Peru, as well as in São Paulo, Brazil, and New York City, U.S.

"We seek the liberation of DJ LaBoite in the U.S. territory," the organization said on the website.

LaBoite remains in a U.S. jail awaiting a hearing Jan. 14 at which he plans to fight Cuba's request to extradite him to face bootlegging crimes allegations there.

Sandro Del Fuego of Fuzz Up said, "We're sending a message to President Obama and attorney general, that we want America to stand up for our shared beliefs, in presumption of innocence and freedom of fuzz."

No Fuzz Tonight!

DJ LaBoite, founder of the controversial Fuzzanova, was arrested in New York City, Tuesday morning at the request of Cuban authorities who want to question him about allegations of Cigar and Rum smuggling.

LaBoite voluntarily surrendered to police and was put under arrest, police said. He is expected to appear in a New York court later Today

Tired of the self imposed exile after the Whiskey-Leaks affair, our man, DJ LaBoite, got himself on a raft and rowed all the way from Cuba to the Miami shore where he was rescued by the Coast Guard.
